How to lose weight and reduce the look of cellulite — without starving
You've been eating less and less, and your legs look exactly the same. That's not a willpower problem. That's the plan failing you — and here's why.

The starvation trap
Crash dieting makes the scale drop fast — and a big chunk of what you lose is muscle. Less muscle means softer, less shaped legs, which is the opposite of what you were starving yourself for. It also tanks your energy, which kills your training, which costs you more muscle. Round and round, every January.
What actually changes how your legs look
Two things, working together: a modest calorie deficit (think 10–15% below what your body burns, not half of it) and enough protein to build muscle while you lose fat. That combination is what firms the area under the skin — the thing that changes what you see. Most women who come to me are shocked that the fix is eating more than their diet app allowed.
The plate, simplified
- Protein at every meal — palm-sized portion minimum. This is the muscle-building raw material.
- Carbs around your workouts — fuel to train hard enough to matter. Bread is not the enemy; being too tired to train is.
- A deficit you can't feel by 3pm — if you're exhausted and cranky, it's too aggressive, and it will cost you muscle.
- Dinner with friends stays — a plan you have to hide from your life is a plan you'll quit.

Nutrition builds the raw material; strength training turns it into shape. Thirty minutes, three times a week, progressively harder — fed by enough food to actually recover. That's the whole method. It's not sexy, it's just what works, and it's why the women in our reviews talk about week 4 like a turning point.
Eight weeks, honestly
Give it eight weeks before you judge it. Not because that's a marketing number, but because that's roughly how long body composition takes to show up in the mirror. Weeks 1–2: energy comes back. Week 4: clothes fit differently. Week 8: you stop hiding your legs. Individual results vary — the consistency requirement doesn't.
